The Collaborative Health and Education Research Centre was established in 1994 is a business unit which negotiates contracts for work within Bendigo Health, in the Loddon-Mallee region and throughout Australia.
Collaborative Health and Education Research Centre brings together research, education and clinical practice at Bendigo Heatlh. This is achieved by organising educational programs for staff, conducting health consultancies and by obtaining funding to engage in research. Research is provided not only to other units within Bendigo Health but also the regional health community more generally.
It now provides a national consultancy service specialising in health service improvement, medical and nursing education, program evaluation and research.
Recent consultancies have included:
- the provision of continuing education to nurses and medical students
- evaluation of the practice-based mental health nurses program
- the development of customer satisfaction surveys
- the revision of guidelines for remote area nurses
Current State and Commonwealth funded research programs include Partnerships in Chronic Disease Management and A Collaborative Regional Trauma Management Project.
An overview of Collaborative Health Education and Research Centre activities are contained in the latest Annual and Academic reports below.
