The Critical Care Unit on Level 4, Phillips Building, is a 12 bed facility combining intensive care and coronary care.  The unit cares for over 1000 intensive care, high dependency and coronary care patients each year.  The intensive care facility is the only such facility in the Loddon Mallee region.

The well designed and spacious unit offers all aspects of modern critical care, including multi-pressure channelled monitoring, invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support, renal replacement therapy and cardiac support.  The Unit can provide a comprehensive outreach service including a seven day intensive care liaison nurse service and a 24 hour medical emergency team response.

Regular audits are conducted to monitor standards and indicate that the unit compares well with similar sized metropolitan units, and fully meets the needs of the community in the Loddon Mallee region.
