Adult Community Mental Health Services is a service for persons between 18 - 64 years.

Services include assessment and referral to:

  • acute inpatient; residential and non-residential rehabilitation; and other generic health services
  • case management
  • crisis assessment and treatment
  • mobile intensive support and treatment

In Greater Bendigo the service model is based on distinct teams.  The Continuing Care Team provides case management services using a clinical/brokerage model to consumers who require ongoing treatment and support of limited intensity.  The Continuing Care Team provides outreach services to several small regional areas including Elmore, Heathcote, Donald, Inglewood and Charlton.  The Mobile Support and Treatment Team uses an assertive community treatment model of service delivery. This team provides treatment and support to consumers who require intensive intervention but who can safely be managed at home.

There are five regional centres (Swan Hill, Echuca, Kyneton, Castlemaine, Maryborough) that have smaller community mental health centres under Bendigo Health's umbrella, to service their immediate surrounds and provide outreach services to the more remote areas.
