The Alexander Bayne Centre is the region's acute psychiatric inpatient unit.

It is located within the Bendigo Hospital Campus and provides assessment and short-term treatment for persons 16 - 64 years.

The unit consists of single room accommodation for 24 patients, activity areas, clinical areas and interview rooms and is designed to provide high level care in a safe environment.  Clients are referred to the unit via the Psychiatric Regional Triage Service.
