Home Nursing and Support Services (HNSS)

This program is supported by funding from the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments under the HACC program.

Incorporates District Nursing and the Regional Continence Service. The District Nursing service provides a range of services to the individual in their home that includes, wound management, medication management, nursing support and maintenance to the highly dependent and/or frail and aged person, palliative care nursing, nursing care following hospital discharge, and assessment and referral to other service providers. The service has clinical specialist in wound care, both local and regional, diabetic educator, hospital liaison nurse, palliative and continence consultants. The Regional Continence service incorporates continence nurse consultants in Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill providing continence assessment and advice to the frail, aged and disabled in the region.

Fitness for Older Adults program (FOAP)

This program is supported by funding from the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments under the HACC program.

The Fitness for Older Adults Program (FOAP) delivers strength training and physical activity groups for older adults both in Bendigo and surrounding regional towns. The purpose of the groups is to reduce the risk of falls, improve balance, general fitness levels and overall health and wellbeing. Hours: 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

Post Acute Care (PAC)

The Post Acute Care (PAC) program provides individually tailored packages of care to patients needing additional support to assist in their recuperation following discharge from hospital. PAC is a regional service and is there is no charge for the service. 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

Regional Continence Service

This program is supported by funding from the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments under the HACC program.

The Bendigo Regional Continence Service can provide assessment and treatment for clients of all ages with bladder, bowel and pelvic floor muscle problems. Bedwetting prolapsed and pelvic pain can also be assessed and treated by the continence service. Services available: General information confidential assessment and treatment, diagnostic tests including access to an urodynamic clinic (urology and gynaecology specialists). Individualised pelvic floor muscle assessment and treatment s, advice about continence products, including accessing funding sources if eligible. Education and follow up for clients after discharge from hospital and education for other health professionals and carers. Community education sessions and a Children’s Disability Program are also provided. Hours: 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

Regional Communication Service

The Regional Communication Service provides training and capacity building approaches to organisations and disability funded services who want to communicate more effectively with people who have little or no speech. Speech Pathology services are also provided directly to clients with little or no speech to improve their communication through the use of communication aids such as voice devices, picture based cards with messages, or larger communication boards. Hours: 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

Residential In Reach (RIR)

R.I.R is a nurse lead program that provides specialist assessment, coordination, care provision and treatment for residents within aged care facilities. The service provides an alternative to the Emergency Department for the management of acute conditions and aged related issues and applies a person centred approach. Rural Health Team (RHT)

This program is supported by funding from the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments under the HACC program.

Rural Health Team provides Home and Community Care (HACC) multi disciplinary allied health services to eligible clients in the five local government areas of Buloke, Campaspe, Gannawarra, Loddon and the City of Greater Bendigo. Dietetic, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Speech Pathology services support aged and frail people, and people with disabilities and their carers to continue to live at home safely and independently, and remain active members of their community. Hours: 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
