The Community Dental Service provides dental services to people who are holders of a Heath Care Card and their dependants, and people who have a Pension Card.
All emergencies undergo a triage assessment and are placed into one of five categories. The treatment time frame is dependant on the urgency of the dental problem. Treatment is provided to alleviate pain in cases of toothaches, dental swellings, broken teeth and fillings.
General care provides treatment like dental exams, scaling and cleaning, fillings, and also the provision of removable partial and full dentures. There is a waiting list for general care.
Co-payments are payable for those aged eighteen and over. It costs $21.00 for an emergency course of care, and generally 15 percent of the schedule fee for general care, with a maximum of $84.00 for a complete course of care.
The service is located on Level 7, East Wing on the Anne Caudle Centre campus, Barnard Street, Bendigo.
