Home Nursing Support Services Incorporates:

• Bendigo Community Palliative Care
• Cultural Diversity Service
• District Nursing
• Regional Continence Service

Referrals will be accepted between 8am-4.30pm Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays)

After hours staff can be contacted through the main switchboard or the evening supervisor, acute campus on (03) 5454 6000.

Services provided under the Home Nursing Support Service include:

• Wound management
• Medication management
• Nursing support and maintenance to the highly dependent and /or frail aged
• Post acute nursing care following hospital discharge
• Support to family and carers
• Assessment and referral to other service providers.

Additional information:

• The service Is available to anyone living within a 20km radius of the Bendigo GPO
• It has no age limit
• Referrals can be made by any authorised health care provider
• For Department of Veterans' Affairs clients - doctor's written authority required.
• Transport Accident Commission and Work Cover clients - if approved by insurer
• The person must agree to being referred to the service.

Fees:

• Pensioners or Health Benefit cardholders pay $2.80 a visit
• Other fees are charged according to client income (above a prescribed level.)
