Gerry Rudkins Blue Ribbon Memorial Scholarship awarded for 2016

Bendigo Health nurse Bradley Allan has been announced as the Gerry Rudkins Blue Ribbon Memorial Scholarship recipient for 2016.
The $2500 scholarship assists Bradley with the significant costs of study in postgraduate critical care nursing at Bendigo Health and Latrobe University Bendigo.
Bendigo Health clinical educator Kim Fuzzard said Bradley is an excellent nurse and should excel in his studies enabling him to provide care for critically ill patients.
“I know he is very honoured and grateful to receive the scholarship,” Ms Fuzzard said.
“Bradley will use the scholarship to assist him with the cost of study as he learns to provide advanced levels of care, directly benefitting critically ill patients and their families.”
The prestigious scholarship honours the memory of Inspector Gerry Rudkins, who was a member of Victoria Police for more than 30 years. Inspector Rudkins is remembered for his ethical and diligent service and his work earnt him the respect of his colleagues and the wider community.
Members of the Blue Ribbon Foundation met with Bradley today to congratulate him on the scholarship.
Bendigo Blue Ribbon Foundation president, Bendigo Police Sergeant Margaret Singe, said the scholarship holds great prestige within the Blue Ribbon Foundation.
“We look forward to this scholarship playing an important part in ensuring the central Victorian community receive high quality emergency and intensive care,” she said.
“Recipients have always felt very privileged to receive such a prestigious scholarship which honours the sacrifice of those Victoria Police members who have died in the line of duty.”
