These days pre-operative preparation allows most elective surgery patients to be admitted to hospital on the day of their surgery.  The patient arrival time will be based on the planned operation.  Notification of the arrival time will occur in the week prior to surgery.

Day patients come to the Surgery Admissions Centre on Level 2 of the Phillips Block at the appointed time on their day of surgery, where nursing and medical staff will undertake any necessary additional assessments prior to surgery.

Patients who will be staying overnight need to come to Patient Services Department for admission. This is located on Level 1, Stanistreet House. Entry is via the external door to the left of the Hyett Block main entrance, in the cream brick building.

All children being admitted should go directly to the Child and Adolescent Unit, on the ground floor near the Hyett Block reception.
