This service operates 24 hours, 7 days a week and acts as the single point of entry into our services. The team accepts and screen all referrals and co-ordinates admission to the acute in-patient units.
Enhanced Crisis Assessment and Treatment (ECAT) is based in the emergency department at Bendigo hospital. The team are on hand to assess and treat patients who present to emergency which means waiting times for these patients are reduced.
The Adult Acute Unit is a 29 bed adult acute psychiatric inpatient unit which operates 24 hours per day, seven days a week. It is co-located on the grounds of Bendigo hospital. Admission is via the single point of entry triage service. The unit has two distinct areas, the open ward which is for acutely unwell patients in need of hospitalisation who can be treated in the least restrictive environment. The other is the High Dependency Unit for patients requiring a safe and secure environment that provides more intensive support and treatment.
