Bendigo Health Psychiatric Services provide a range of specialist mental health inpatient and community based services for people of all ages living in the Loddon Campaspe Southern Mallee region. Click here for area map.

 

Inpatient services are all located in Bendigo while outpatient services are provided from clinics in Bendigo and a number of rural locations.

 

Referrals to any part of the service are made by contacting the Psychiatric Triage Service, which is a telephone psychiatric crisis and referral service, via;

Telephone advice for general practitioners
General practitioners can request advice from a consultant psychiatrist with regard to any psychiatric issue for any patient they are treating, regardless of whether or not the patient has had previous contact with Psychiatric Services.

Annual Review Clinic
The Annual Review Clinic provides general practitioners with a service whereby a consultant psychiatrist reviews a patient’s history, mental state and current management and develops a written management plan for the next twelve months. This service is provided for patients who have had previous contact with Psychiatric Services, but are currently psychiatrically stable and being managed by a general practitioner.

Primary Mental Health Team
The Primary Mental Health Team provides support and assistance to general practitioners and other primary health care providers in the assessment and treatment of people in the community who experience anxiety, depression, an eating disorder or a related mental health problem.
