Inpatient care

Alexander Bayne Centre
The Alexander Bayne Centre is a 24 bed inpatient unit based at the Bendigo Health, hospital campus, that provides short term treatment for people aged 16 – 64 years experiencing an acute episode of serious mental illness.

Vahland Complex
Vahland Complex comprises an eight bed Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU) and 12 bed Community Care Unit (CCU).

The SECU provides specialist psychiatric rehabilitation services to people with serious mental illness, whose symptoms and/or behavioural disturbance inhibits their capacity to live and receive rehabilitation treatment within a community setting.

The CCU provides assessment and residential rehabilitation services to adults aged 18 – 64 years with serious mental illness and associated decline in psychosocial function.

Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) Unit
Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) Unit consists of 10 individual self-contained units. PARC is for people aged 16 to 64 with a serious mental illness who do not need to be in an acute in-patient psychiatric unit, ie Alexander Bayne Centre, but would benefit from a short-term, sub-acute, community based intensive treatment and recovery program.

Outpatient care

Bendigo Health community based psychiatric services provide specialist assessment, treatment and case management for people who are experiencing a mental illness. These services are provided from clinics located in Bendigo and a number of other rural locations.
