Specialist Clinics (Outpatients) are the referral centre for patients seeking consultation for elective and non-emergency treatment at Bendigo Health’s hospital campus as a public patient. 

Approximately 19,000 patients are seen in the Specialist Clinics annually.

 

Consultants who attend the clinics specialise or have special interest in a variety of specialties.

Ophthalmology

Paediatrics
Paediatric surgery

Respiratory medicine

Urology (vasectomy reversal not available)

Plastic and reconstructive surgery
Mental health (refer to psychiatric services)
Drug and alcohol
Dermatology
Sleep studies

Service access/entry criteria 

 

This service is for the people of the Loddon Mallee region.

A written referral from your general practitioner (GP) is required to access this service.

 

Your GP will post or fax this referral to us.

 

You will be notified by mail of the receipt of you referral and offered an appointment or be placed on the waiting list for an appointment.

 

Referral management:

Your referral will be categorised by a Specialist Clinic consultant.

 

All surgical referrals are categorised by an experienced registered nurse using guidelines as outlined by the director of surgery.

Fees:

 

Specialist Clinics are for public patients. There is no charge for this service.
