What the clinic does

Occupational therapy provides assessment and intervention within

  • Outpatient Rehabilitation Service (OPRS) including
    - Complex care neurological
    - Complex care orthopaedic
    - Falls and mobility clinic
    - Hand and upper limb clinic
    - Pain management clinic
    - Back pain clinic
    - Memory clinic
    - Spinal injury clinic
    - Tissue trauma and lymphoedema clinic
  • Transitional Care Program (TCP): TCP provides short-term support and management for older people, after a stay in hospital. Participants are provided with a care package of services as part of an ongoing but slower recovery process, while options for their longer term care arrangements are considered. This regional service has places based in Bendigo, Echuca, Swan Hill, Maryborough, Kyabram, Castlemaine Health.
  • Hospital Admission Risk Program (HARP): HARP supports people with chronic and complex illness to reduce avoidable hospital admissions, reduce emergency department use and improve quality of life. HARP provides a co-ordinated team approach to managing people with complex care needs.
  • Home Assessment and Rehabilitation Team (HART): HART works in the Greater Bendigo area (except Heathcote and Elmore) with carers and people who are frail, aged or disabled and who need home-based assessment and therapy services.
  • Rural Health Team (RHT): RHT supports people who are frail, aged or have a disability, to continue to live at home safely and independently. Services are provided to people who live in rural towns and communities in the local government areas of Campaspe, Buloke, Loddon and Elmore and Heathcote in the City of Greater Bendigo.
  • Multidisciplinary Paediatric Rehabilitation Clinic: Service for children and adolescents aged between 0-16 years who, as a result of injury, medical/surgical intervention, or functional impairment, would benefit from a program of goal focused and time-limited developmentally appropriate rehabilitation

Clinical information to supplement the referral form   You can provide information using the SCTT form, your personal letterhead or a computer generated form.
Information about the patient’s condition, functional ability, the impact their condition is having on their daily activities would help us in determining how best we can meet the needs of your patient.  
Approximate wait time for referred patients   Referrals are prioritised depending on the circumstances of the individual and criteria of the program area

John Lindell Rehabilitation Unit is located at Bendigo Health Anne Caudle Centre campus

Stewart Cowen Community Rehabilitation Centre is located in Market Street, Eaglehawk (next to Community Health Bendigo).

HART and RHT are home based services.
