Podiatry

The Bendigo Health podiatry department is made up of around six podiatrists who are committed to providing high quality services across a range of programs servicing the Loddon Mallee region.

Podiatrists are trained in the areas of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical and surgical conditions of the foot. As providers of comprehensive foot care, podiatrists play an important role in the mobility, general health and independence of all members of the community. They play an important role in helping to prevent and manage lower-limb complications associated with conditions such as diabetes and can help to alleviate painful foot conditions.

Bendigo Health podiatrists are also involved with educating students, conducting research and supporting podiatrists in the Loddon Mallee region.

Where do podiatrists provide services within Bendigo Health?

  • Outpatient rehabilitation: including the diabetic foot clinic – a 'high risk foot clinic' that sees outpatients who have high risk foot pathologies such as foot ulcers
  • Rural Health Team: primarily providing services to frail, aged and disabled people in communities outside Bendigo in the Loddon Mallee region
  • Inpatient acute wards: providing services to those admitted with diabetic foot pathologies such as foot ulcers and infections
  • Inpatient rehabilitation: mainly involved with the amputee rehabilitation stream

Where is podiatry located?
