The Human Research Ethics Committee of Bendigo Health is a committee which reviews the human research conducted at Bendigo Health.
The committee's primary role is to protect the welfare and rights of participants in research. As part of this it is the responsibility of the Human Research Ethics Committee to review new research proposals, monitor existing research and maintain a register of all research projects conducted at Bendigo Health. The committee operates in accordance with the National Health and Medical Research Council National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans and adheres to the guidelines on research misconduct established in the Joint NHMRC/AVCC Statement and Guidelines on Research Practice. In addition the committee operates in accordance with the terms of reference established by Bendigo Health. Please contact the secretary on the contact number for a copy of the terms of reference. Membership Membership of the committee is in accordance with the National Health and Medical Research Council guidelines. The committee attempts to maintain a balance of gender and institutional/non-institutional members in order to represent a broad cross-section of the community.
