Family birthing suites are available to women whose pregnancy has been assessed by an obstetrician as low risk. Women and their partners can stay together after the birth in the suite for 24 hours.
The average length of stay in hospital for a normal vaginal birth is 48-72 hours and 96 hours after a caesarean birth.
The hospital provides a domiciliary midwifery service. All women are offered a home visit by a midwife to support a smooth transition from hospital to home.
Visiting Hours:
2pm - 4pm and 6pm - 8pm Rest time 1pm - 2pm (no visitors please)
Partners/support person and other children are welcome to visit anytime, however we request that they also observe rest time to allow the mothers to rest.
