The Psychiatric Services Professional Development Unit provides professional leadership to psychiatric nurses practicing at Bendigo Health by driving mental health workforce innovation in the areas of clinical, educational and research interests.
This team specifically aims to develop and co-ordinate:

  • Education and professional development – undergraduate, postgraduate nursing and allied health students. The team is also responsible for the delivery of education and training to various other divisions of nursing and the broader community health services, including small rural hospital staff and drug and alcohol services.
  • Clinical supervision
  • Development and practical utilisation of research

The team is also responsible for the monitoring of standards of psychiatric nursing practice within Bendigo Health psychiatric services.

The unit also oversees the implementation of recruitment strategies to ensure the longer term sustainability of this specialised workforce.

The Psychiatric Services Professional Development Unit is located on Level 6, North Wing, Anne Caudle Centre campus
